SOOCHNA SHAKTI YOJANA
Government of Chhattisgarh has sanctioned IT education
for classes IX to XII in all 1235 Government girls and
co-educational schools in the State beginning with the
current academic session under the Indira Soochna Shakti
Yojana (ISSY). Under the scheme, girls belonging to
poorer and weaker sections of the society are being
given free computer education according to CBSE syllabus
at a cost to the State Government of nearly Rs. 7 crores
per annum. Other girls and boys in co-educational institutions
can avail the educational facility on payment of a fee
of Rs. 54 per month.
MIDDLE
& PRIMARY SCHOOLS
Government of Chhattisgarh has earmarked Rs. 6.88 crores
for imparting IT education and IT - enabled multimedia
teaching of other subjects on a pilot basis in several
hundred middle schools (classes VI to VIII).
Besides, the Government introduced IT-enabled education
in over two hundred locations middle schools as part
of DPEP.
COLLEGES
Government of Chhattisgarh has executed an agreement
for IT education on Government of India approved syllabus
in all 186 Government colleges in the State having an
enrolment of nearly 70,000 students. They may avail
of the facility on payment of a fee of Rs. 84 per month
by interested students.
PRIVATE
UNIVETRSITY FOR IMPARTING IT COURSES
Government of Chhattisgarh has enacted a Private Universities
Act for establishing Private Universities in the State.
Such Private Universities will be entitled to get land
on concessional terms from the State Government. Such
a University may also impart IT education, courses and
degrees.
